Drug-Free Clubs of America M.A.D.E. Rally Big Success! Today, let's take a moment to congratulate Tara Mess, the M.A.D.E Advisor and Adena school counselor, and the students of Adena for their significant contribution at the M.A.D.E. event that took place earlier today in Chillicothe. Adena sent four buses of students to the event, which brought close to 1,600 kids to Chillicothe's Yoctangee Park, marching to the Ross County Court House for the rally. The M.A.D.E club is an organization that aims to promote a drug-free lifestyle among young people and encourages them to make positive decisions. We are proud of the commitment our Warriors continue to honor as drug-free students!

Mrs. Smith reports that Mallory was a good friend to another student. Mallory was at the front of the line but when she saw that another student was upset, she let her move to the front of the line to make her feel better. Way to have empathy Mallory!

It’s never too early to talk with your children about the risks of marijuana use. Research suggests that one of the most influential factors for children is a strong, open relationship with a parent. Though it may not seem like it, children hear your concerns, and it’s important that you discuss the risks of using marijuana with them. For useful information, please refer to the attached pamphlet.

Attention Middle School Parents/Guardians. We are notifying you about a schedule change that will be taking place in our middle school next week. Please refer to the attached letter for more details. The new schedule aims to improve discipline issues and allow students to have a "reset" during the day. Don't worry; it's not a drastic change, and all teachers will continue to teach the same subjects for the same amount of time each day. The new schedules will be distributed to students on Monday, October 30th, and they will have a few minutes to discuss their schedule changes with their teachers before classes switch. Please take a look at the attached letter for more details. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our team.

Today the fifth grade students went on an adventure around Chillicothe. They started their day with bowling at Shawnee Lanes. Then they headed over to the Majestic Theater to learn more about this area's history. They had their lunches in the park and had a blast on the playground. The fifth grade students ended their day with the Phoenix Fire Department. Our fifth graders were the first school group to see the museum and the volunteers did a wonderful job! Thank you to the Adena PTO for paying for bowling, and thank you to the parents and staff who helped make this field trip happen!
