Students in Miss Leedy's Biology class explored genetics by crossing traits from popular celebrities and playing with AI tools to see the traits take form! Peyton Self was voted to have the "prettiest" baby by crossing celebrities Margo Robbie and Ryan Reynolds.
Attention Middle School Parents/Guardians. We are notifying you about a schedule change that will be taking place in our middle school next week. Please refer to the attached letter for more details. The new schedule aims to improve discipline issues and allow students to have a "reset" during the day. Don't worry; it's not a drastic change, and all teachers will continue to teach the same subjects for the same amount of time each day. The new schedules will be distributed to students on Monday, October 30th, and they will have a few minutes to discuss their schedule changes with their teachers before classes switch. Mrs. Smith’s class was introduced to the Legos for Education Tuesday, it is full of STEAM lessons. Mrs. Smith is looking forward to using the Legos in her classroom this year to enrich student learning with science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Tuesday, they started building an amusement park that will involve coding.

Today the fifth grade students went on an adventure around Chillicothe. They started their day with bowling at Shawnee Lanes. Then they headed over to the Majestic Theater to learn more about this area's history. They had their lunches in the park and had a blast on the playground. The fifth grade students ended their day with the Phoenix Fire Department. Our fifth graders were the first school group to see the museum and the volunteers did a wonderful job!
Thank you to the Adena PTO for paying for bowling, and thank you to the parents and staff who helped make this field trip happen!
Adena Elementary is celebrating Red Ribbon Week
Mrs. Bryans is one lucky teacher with Barry and Emmett. They have both been wonderful helpers. They helped deliver mail to the high school office last week. Both walked in the hallway and were very polite to the secretaries in the high school office.
Mrs. Vickers reports that Layla saw a student that was struggling to follow directions and she stepped in to help this student with following directions and doing their work neatly. She was a great example in the classroom and handled the conversation with grace and respectfulness.

Isaac Carter's teacher, Kylie Frankel, reports that he is always willing to help other students and adults. I can count on him for everything throughout the school day. He is a great leader, always positive, awesome team member, and is always doing the right thing. Way to be a leader, Isaac!
We are excited to announce the rollout of StopFinder. StopFinder is a parent app that is used to see your student's bus schedule, and to receive notifications from the transportation department. We will begin sending out invitations for the app beginning Monday, October 16th, and continuing the rollout over the next two weeks, a few buses at a time. Only the primary contact will receive an invitation via the email we have on file in Final Forms. Emails will have instructions on how to download and setup access. Wow, congratulations to the Adena FFA Soils Judging Team for their amazing performance at the Urban Land Evaluation competition! Seeing young students interested in soil management and conservation is truly inspiring. Even though they didn't make it to the state contest, they should be incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. And a big shoutout to Lorelei for placing 8th as an individual, Jocob 37th, Logan 45th, Laney 46th, and Lukus 49th. It's especially impressive considering that 4 out of the 5 team members were new to the contest. I hope that more students will participate in the future and learn about the importance of soil science. Keep up the great work, Adena FFA Soils Judging Team!
